She has been named as a New Artist Nominee for the 2001 Country Gospel Music Guild Awards. Tammy is a strong advocate for Autism Awareness, since her own daughter was diagnosed at age 3 1/2. She says the disorder occurs in more than 1 in 500 individuals.
