Happy July! Snap, Crackle, Pop! According to Morgan, it's time for fireworks, watermelon, and corn on the cob. Hope your summer is something to celebrate! Here's the latest:
This month I'll be joining friend and co-writer Richard Trest at Mt. Denson Church in Springfield for an evening of original music. Looking forward to this. It's been too long since I sat down with this guy. He has a Big Heart, and Big Talent! Richard is the owner of Ri'chard's Louisiana Cafe, which is also a great place to enjoy some original tunes, and some good cookin'! Check them out.
Thoughts and Thanks:
I believe all people, regardless of our age or disAbility, have a basic need to be needed. Everyone has something to offer, and we need to know someone values that.
OK, my teenage daughter has the art of complaining down to a science when she doesn't want to do something. But I see a sense of pride in her when she accomplishes something worthwhile on her own. When I ask her to help with meaningful chores around the house, she'll smile and say "We have to work!"
I've had the privledge of working with other young adults over the years who are all willing and able to offer something of value to an employer in their community.
I was reminded of that while watching this video recently. I hope you'll take a moment of your time to view it, and think about sharing it with an employer in your community. You can watch the Video here.
